[ SHOWGSD-L ] AKC's mission statement

I received this from an AKC Delegate... does it seem to the list that
AKC is changing its thinking about breeders, dog shows, etc.?
I don't really know what to make of this...of course, there seems to be
some good stuff in the new mission statement...but where's the part
about dog events, breeding, etc? And now it's all about companion
animals...am I reading this right?
