This is a totally erroneous statement by Carolyn about dogs going BIS. My BIS CH Ropaja's Chateau Beaujolais ROM OFA HIC was bred by me, and owned by me and handled by someone, who at the time, was a lesser known handler; She won in both rings! She certainly did not have tens of thousands of dollars spent on her, nor was she heavily advertised, she was not even advertised period!!!...I put one ad in the Review and one ad in the CC AFTER she went BIS...and also on the day she went BIS she was judged by three different judges who were more than knowledgeable about our breed. AND I value her BIS just as much as those of you who have bitches you have a Select title or better. Additionally if you are going to make statements such as this...please note that it also takes thousands of dollars to show at the National (let's not even mention time and travel expenses)and those dogs are heavily advertised as to their wins, their multiple owners, and their handlers. And don't even go to the political side of this coin; if you are fortunate enough to be able to have ANY of the top ten handlers in the country on your dog at our National, you WILL go Select or better...check the record on that statement; I am certainly not saying that lesser known dogs/handlers do not go Select... just saying what is!!! Marquins Yancy D V Adelguard--herding obedience alphabet soup) and his sable daughter...Ch. Adelgaurd Alone At The Top v Tsali who won a BIS from the Classes a couple years back. Neither one was adverised heavily if at all outside of the Review. It does happen and to be the one dog that remains undefeated at the end of the day...well, it means something to those who accomplished it.
