I am completely opposed to having whites as a different breed. In my opinion, they are GSDs and will always be. Why not have the Blues be a different breed and, while we are at it, Livers too?? My first preference would be a new variety. If that's not possible, eliminate the DQ. If they become a new breed, they will be unregisterable if produced in a B/T litter. That's ridiculous. If neither of these options are possible, leave things as they are.. Right now we have too many different "styles" for one breed. If they were placed as a variety, or the DQ removed, we'd have more continuity within the breed, for there would be one standard. Right now, the WGSD has their own standard and their own club. This I just don't understand, since GSDs are the same breed, whether B/T, Sable, White, Liver, or Blue. This discussion has been complete with many strong opinions and feelings. The decision should be about the breed and I don't see how having two standards for ONE breed helps the breed in any way. jmho Gina ROYAL T SHEPHERDS http://www.royaltshepherds.com Home of: Ch Covy Tucker Hill v Royal T's Edsel,CD,NA,CGC,HIC,OFA h/e/t/c ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2009.
