I believe the difference is that once Juniors is over, there is no further
competition, so no further opportunity to defeat another junior. In an
All-Breed show, there is still the group where your dog is still being
judged against his/her standard. I know of a few dogs of less
common breeds who have completed championships even though
they rarely competed against another dog of the same breed. If
they take a group 1, they receive the maximum number of points
won by any other dog in the group.
