I'm not quite sure why there is a problem with this program.
AKC is not holding a gun to anyone's head, making them participate.
You can finish a championship (as usual) and then continue on if
you like. What is wrong with that. It just might be incentive for
some folks to "special" some really nice animals.
As for those with money, they are specialing dogs anyway, for
National ranking. Nothing will change that much except for more
paper to file away.
Personally, I would like to see some type of program that promoted
Veterans.....Veteran championships. It's an area that gets very little
attention. Longevity and health should be very important aspects of
breeding.
