[ SHOWGSD-L ] AKC FEES

There have been several posts lately about AKC fees. I have only gotten as
far as P. 7 in the latest AKC Gazette since we got home from Colorado but on
P. 7 is the column by Ron Menaker, Chairman. He talks about the budget
problems of AKC. The decline in the number of dogs registered has affected
AKC
monetarily just as it has affected the GSDCA and regional clubs. AKC is
looking for alternative forms of revenue which is why there have been
suggestions
of allowing mixed breeds, etc.
Anyway, if you get the Gazette, read the column. It is interesting.
