I actually do not agree with that.....because it would just be MORE
'legislation'  and someone telling us what and who we can and cannot
show our dogs under.
Our National judges are VOTED for.   If the members, exhibitors,
breeders, want the same judges over and over....they are the ones that 
know who they want to show their dogs under.
If you want a different judge...NOMINATE them under the rules of 
how they qualify.....then let the people VOTE!

Remember...there are judges you will drive or fly to show under and
some you will not exhibit under in your own back yard.  If we HAD to 
go through every single AKC GSD Judge that ever got their license...
just BECAUSE it was a rule..and they were licensed...
I cannot see that working............<G>

How about this change ( let me have my fun since I only have 3 weeks to
discuss club issues) You can only judge BOB at the National 3 times!....that
along with term limits will also never happen...yes I know we have had
several wonderful judges who have done BOB more than 3 times....but there
are other very very good judges who have NEVER judged BOB at the
National...why? because we keep rotating the same folks!.....the National is
the biggest show of the year, we need to limit the number of times a judge
can do this show.........just think next year NO MORE Ideas and suggestions
from me about what I think will make this club better!...lol....I'm running
for school board next year, and let me tell ya why I'll get my butt kicked
in that election !..I think there should be cameras in the classroom,
teachers should work 8-5, with a starting pay of $ 90,000.00...kids should
be paid  ( not with money) to attend class, school uniforms for kids k-8,
foreign language should be manda
 tory curriculum from grades 1-8.......free breakfast EVERY DAY for ALL
STUDENTS!..........my principal is very glad Im retired! Ed

I don't know why some ideas go over OK and some do not. But I 
don't think the Board is to blame.  The problem is US! 
I think we shoot ourselves in the foot!!! 
When the "discussion" over the Standard was going on I often felt 
discouraged, as many were e-mailing me privately encouraging me 
to continue speaking up!  When asked to join me....almost ALL 
were afraid to. Their "fear" was that most of the Board was made 
up of Judges.   Judges they might want to exhibit under! 

Since Ed speaks up about 'no one is listening' and about TERM LIMITS, 
I think we also need to speak up about Judges on our Board.   I truly 
believe a Board member should NEVER be allowed to judge the National 
while they are sitting on the Board!   
( Kill me now.....I'll probably never be able to show again )  <G> 
Ed says he's leaving the Parent Club....I may be THROWN OUT!   <G> 

Seriously....I don't think the Judges are the problem so much as our 
own fear and reluctance to stand UP and SPEAK up!   The problem is 
the ILLUSION, or PERCEPTION of a problem that seems to set "FEAR" in 
the heart of many.  Again...our own fault. (The 'bullet to the foot') 
Many also have the same fear over losing a handler.   
What is wrong with us?!  I personally would rather speak up now, than 
cringe in fear with the words still in my heart when I'm done..... 

The only fear we should have is concern for ruining our own Breed, and 
for all the wrong reasons.  #1 FEAR, laziness, popularity, money, ego, 
easiest shortest route to a winner, ignoring problems.....etc. 

Being on the Board is a tremendous job!  Lots of work..long hours, lots 
of decisions and paper work.  Naturally most are not going to jump on 
every suggestion we make and take on the task.   If we really want to 
get some new ideas and projects good for the Breed....DO IT. 
Mike Metz suggested a 'round table' discussion for Breeder/Exhibitors 
at this last National..then he went ahead with the idea and made it 
happen.  AWESOME idea and a good job getting it done.   
A great idea I hope really grows..

These are some of the things I begged our parent club to do! About ten years

ago while attending the winter shows in Chicago, the hotel I was staying at 
was hosting the National Racing Pigeon Seminar! I walked in, grabbed a 
donut, 
sat down and listened to the speaker for a few minutes! Later that same 
night at the Chicago show I approached a Long time board member with the 
ideaof our club doing something like this! He/she said no one would come! 
What a great attitude! Not trying to bad mouth the club, cuz I've been a 
member for the most part of the last 30 years! we finally got streaming 
videoafter years of members like Evan and a few others begging for this. 
Thenwe took a big step backwards and didn't have it this year, but we 
sponsored the Working trials! I know this post sounds like sour grapes cuz 
mydivorce from the club becomes final on Dec 31, but I believe every club 
needs members that don't always go with "flow" members that are not afraid 
tospeak up for positive CHANGE and new creative ideas and programs! How
