[ SHOWGSD-L ] ADMIN REGARDING GARBLED EMAILS

Garbled emails occur when the sender has NOT SET their
PREFERENCES in their EMAIL program to PLAIN TEXT
AOL and other ISPs require that this list be PLAIN TEXT ONLY and
not have attachments to be white listed. This has been the case
since the lists beginning.
For those who are seeing their emails garbled, there is help in your
email program to set your preferences to PLAIN TEXT. There is no
way to correct the email once it appears on the list. Do not cut
and paste from a webpage or document as they are NOT PLAIN
TEXT - they will either come out empty or garbles.
When our mail server gets a non plain text email, it cannot read it
properly and you get symbols.
We cannot fix the problem - only the sender can.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND THE GARBLED EMAILS Back to the list.
