[ SHOWGSD-L ] ADMIN- My resignation

Hi all,
I am sorry, and a bit relieved to inform you that I have decided to resign as
an administrator of the Showgsd-l. I had resigned once before several years
ago, and withdrew that resignation. This time there will be no withdrawal. I
have been reluctant to make this move primarily because my name is on the
corporation (GSD Communications inc.) which owns this list. I am sending Margy
a
request, when I send this post, to also remove my name from GSD
Communications as soon as possible. In the mean time, as of the moment this
post appears
on the list, I will no longer be responsible for any action the list
administration, the Showgsd-l, or GSD Communications inc. takes. I will stay
on as a
lister only, and be responsible only for what I post.
While some of you will not like my decision, and others just might stand up
an cheer, I can only say that everything I've ever done in my capacity as a
list administrator was sincerely what I thought was best for the list. I leave
the position with no regrets for past actions, and a continuing concern for the
list's future. This is a great forum because of its potential to be good for
the breed.
I do feel I owe an explanation for my decision. To that I will only say that
when this list was created, it was decided that a panel of six administrators
was needed to avoid the problems which brought about a quick end to the
previous show list. With that number of people debating each issue, the best
possible and most unbiased decisions were made, and those decisions eventually
shaped the list into something much bigger and better than any of us ever
expected.
In my opinion, the chance to debate individual issues within the admin panel
doesn't really exist when there are only three minds working. If two of us
agree, no matter our reasons, an issue is already decided. In a private email
to Margy, I have already recommended that a six admin panel be brought back,
but that will be a decision for the two remaining administrators to make. In
the mean time, I am not comfortable bearing responsibility for the forum while
the power to debate and convince a larger panel of administrators is not
available to me. I wish only the best for the list, but it is time for me to
resign as an administrator.
