I have been noticing that many of the critters come from webmail-based
email programs. They also appear in email addresses that haven't
been used for awhile.
And as I look at the addresses, they often use the NAME of the person,
but not their email addy as a return address. Some of the websites on
which people have visited and leave their email addy isn't as secure
as they should be, and the "roaming robot" picks up the names and
addys, invades their address book, and a whole new series of critters
get sent out.
The pharmacy one is annoying and causes havoc on both ends (because
the innocent person has to be sent modpost and run the spyware program
to get rid of the critter), but the more dangerous ones are
appearing. The one that asks for your cell number, or says that a
person in your address book has been robbed and needs money.
Never click on a suspicious link even IF you have updated critter
catchers, and make sure the websites you leave your information is
secure. Don't download any attachments unless you know they are safe
from people you know.
