I know I have seen audits by RHeas and Ivy. I do not know how often they =
are
done, but I know I have seen written reports on these audits presented at =
the Nationals.
They were not done yearly, and I do recall at one meeting many years back =
before Bill took over
as Treasurer, that it hadn't been done for several years.
No matter how good a treasurer or bookkeeper is, it is still a good busine=
ss practice to do audits.
My statement had nothing to do with How Bill keeps the books - it was a ge=
neralization of
accounting practices. It is not misleading.
Eventhough we are required to have a CPA as treasurer for the GSDCA, it is=
still good
accounting practices for another CPA to Independently Audit.
SInce I do not have a copy of the Clubs Bylaws or Our Practices Manual han=
dy, I could not say
with certanty how often the GSDCA is required to have an independent audit=
.
If Bill or any other Board member misunderstood the intent of my post, I a=
pologize.
