The below post is terribly misleading "I believe I have seen audits done by
the GSDCA every 5-10 years".
The GSDCA has an audit every year by Rhea & Ivy plus we file a tax return
each year. For the years 2001, 2002 and 2003 they have received all monthly
bank statements, detail receipts/invoices to back every expenditure, detail
vouchers to back deposits and detail support and references to support all
Journal entries. They have received Insurance policies and minutes to also
back up
expenditures. They have the clubs check book each year to track all manual
checks and the receipt voucher book I use at the Nationals to account for cash
receipts from every committee chair that hands me cash. The committee chair
receives the top copy and R&I gets the carbon copy. They also have my deposit
book to support all deposit transactions.
They will receive the same package from me for 2004. I shipped 4 large cases
of detail records to R&I last March 2004 for the 2003 Audit.
