These three senators (phone numbers listed below) on the Local
Government Committee are the ones we need to lobby by phone and/or by
FAX . Senators Dave Cox and Tom Harmon, who are also on the committee,
are already OPPOSED to the bill --- it wouldn't hurt to call and thank
them for their opposition.
The committee members we need to concentrate our efforts on are
Michael Machado, Gloria Negrete McLeod, and Christine Kehoe. Make sure
they know the CVMA has withdrawn its support of AB 1634 and gone to a
neutral position --- this is HUGE, as CVMA was a co-sponsor of the
California Healthy Pets Act and has now withdrawn. If you go to the
California Healthy Pets website you will see that the CVMA is no longer
listed on the left hand sidebar of supporters. The CVMA will be issuing
a press release (it was supposed to be sometime this afternoon).
These five senators have the power to KILL this bill at the committee
meeting on July 11th ....
