My parents tell me I had a black pet chicken when I was about 3 yrs. old.
This black hen stayed by me all day long
when I was playing outside. She was in a lot of photos of me. <G> Had a
couple of Parakeets growing up....and loved
teaching them cute tricks. ALWAYS had a cat. I love and respect
cats....all cats....any cat......
When I was 12 yrs. old we found a Doe Mule deer that had been hit by a car and
killed and a new born fawn was laying
curled up next to her. We took the fawn home and I raised her until she was
close to a year....then we started taking her
to a friend's ranch and let her graze out in the fields....and take her home at
night until she finally started staying with the deer
that came down to graze. Finally after about a month she joined the deer....(
broke my heart ) but she came back to the ranch
periodically for years. I was able to see her the following summer. ( used to
draw crowds when she rode in the car with us
as a beautiful spotted adorable fawn.....and when I took her walking with me
with our little mutt dog and cat ) <G>
I wanted a German Shepherd Dog from the time I was young and had seen a photo
of G.V. Condor v Stoerstrudel in a book.
My husband got our first GSD for my Birthday when our kids were little. She
had terrible temperament!! Finally got her
OK with OUR kids. Loved her, but sure learned a lot from her about bad
temperament and will never ever tolerate another!!
Our next GSD had serious thyroid issues....learned with that one to never ever
tolerate health issues!!
Had horses and ponies for our kids when they were growing up. Not sure who
loved the horses the most...me or our kids.
but I know I STILL miss having horses! Ponies.....not so much!! <G>
We actually went into Nevada with friends and adopted two wild Mustangs during
that time...and kept them in a corral we built
here on our property for two friends that wanted them. Kept them and cared
for them until they were finally broke.
Now THAT WAS AN EXPERIENCE!! A WILD experience!! <G>
Later when we started showing GSD's we met Dottie and Ernie Weight. They were
raising goats to use the milk for their
dogs. They had a "litter" of Nubian goats. Cutest things I ever saw!
Took one home when it was about a week old.
'Rosie the Goat' grew up taking the bottle on my lap...( did I mention how
cute she was!! ) ....and later when she was almost
grown she would come running in the house and jump on my lap!! Rosie loved
playing with puppies....and would cry like a baby
when they grew up and were gone. Finally found a goat ranch....and placed
her there. ( Broke my heart. ) Took her a while to
accept the goats and quit running in their house .<G>....but she finally became
one of the goats and had a good life.
Love the German Shepherd Dog Breed...and love puppies. There is no dog more
beautiful than a great German Shepherd Dog
and none better than the German Shepherd Dog people! Thank goodness for that

I I was just wondering if any one wants to share the kinds of animals we own
now besides our German shepherds and how long we have had shepherds. I think it
would be interesting to know what we have now or had in the past. Just curious.
