I REALLY hate to say this because I know I'll get smacked for it.....but I've
never seen any issue with a breeder taking a credit card. Quite frankly, I
think that is why many people go to pet stores to buy their pet. In my
defense...i don't take credit cards though I easily could through Paypal.
And to dispel one arguement I've heard.... that if you have to buy your pet on
a credit card, you can't afford one....well how many of us have paid our vet
bill via credit card which using that same arguement suggests you can't afford
vet care......hmmmmm bet it's close to 100%.

I think there have always been AKC registered puppies in pet stores. When
I was 5 or 6 someone bought me an AKC registered dog from Doctor's Pet Shop
in NE Phila. (It went back, thanks Mom!)
As far as keeping people coming to us, I don't think that's been a problem
either. The type of person who is doing their homework, who has maybe
received a referral from their vet, who is replacing a much loved family member
that has passed isn't the person who goes to a mall and buys on impulse.
And quite honestly, I don't want to deal with the "impulse" buyer anyway.
Sometimes it works, often it doesn't.
I've never taken credit cards, but I know some who have taken deposits on
pay-pal. That seems reasonable. I have a pay pal account (probably
everyone does) but not sure how money goes into that account, lol.
