Hi all, I have a pedigree given to me by a good friend in dogs, now retired, and she always promised to dig out the pedigree of her mother's gsd.. . well she sold the house this year and moved to retirement home and unpacked the papers. This pedigree is from 1922. Her boss at work (Baltimore) also had a shepherd from this kennel and that pedigree is dated 1923. Has anyone any knowledge of Palisade Kennel in Rosedale, Long Island NY, plus they had a breeding kennel in East Killington CT? Breeder's name is Henri I. Baer. The sire of both litters is a Ewald v. Gigelberg (import), a Nores v.d. Kriminalpolezei son. Sire's dam is Berta v. Gigelberg. I have photos of the sire and her young puppy bitch Nora at 6 months old, they look very much like what E German working lines even now look like. Pedigree describes both pups as color "wolf-gray." The accompanying instructions on feed and care look to be similar to Marie Leary's booklet on care and raising shepherds. Are these pedigrees of historical interest?
