First, I am in no way advocating the domestication of any wild creature, justtelling of an incredible experience I had many years ago. I was obedience trainingdogs for a large boarding kennel in Midland, Texas. One client brought a coyotein to be trained. I was too young and mindless to turn him down and , now, I amglad. He did beautifully in obedience, better than some of the dogs; the onlyproblem was the off-leash work... he could never be trusted off-leash in an un enclosed area. Thank goodness he did not feel affection toward me in the verybeginning or I probably would never have gone into his run. You see, a coyoteshows affection by baring his teeth and hissing through them, a truly intimidatingaction if one doesn't know the meaning.
