I'd breed the sister/aunt, etc. of a GVX with less than a perfect ear set
any day of the week <VBG>. Ear sets can be improved upon rather quickly.
Seriously, temperament is a much bigger issue for me (ESPECIALLY for a
bitch, considering she is the one raising the babies and imprinting early
behavior).
I sent a bitch home without breeding her. When dropped off, she seemed "ok"
although a little wary. You know the excuses, strange place, in season,
etc., etc. The next AM, just one on one, it was crystal clear she wasn't
"ok".
Home she went.
Selfishly, I didn't want my dog associated w/ her progeny.
Selfishly, I didn't want the calls from unhappy puppy people AND the
potential responsibility of the wackadoo pups coming back to me.
We all have to do what we feel is right. For me, life's too short and there
is too much work and heartache involved to breed litters I'm ambivalent
about.
