Ah, but the white coated GSD was gray wolf-like in color early in the breed. They were in the conformation ring before they were disqualified. One question is WHY isn't the GSD supposed to be white? Second question is - If, as sometimes mentioned, it was because of things that have since been proven false, Why is it still disqualified? Is it because the vote of the board was that it simply does not like that color? Does that color affect the ability of the dog? I remember when blacks were frowned upon. Now they are in demand. Yes, other breeds disqualify certain colors or markings as they apparently seem to wish. But this all requires a change in the breed standard. I guess it wasn't hard to change the breed standard to disqualify the white color.
