Two shows per day may indeed by the answer for some, but not all.
Before your club loses a show week-end, be sure this is what you want.
There as many pros as cons.

Our shows in Sacramento had serious issues this year.
We got our Premium List mailed out way late.......and had a glitch that missed
almost anyone that
didn't get it from e-mail or off the List
We were competing with another Futurity AND Specialties the same
weekend.....and it was
Easter weekend. Don't judge us by the one bad year. <G>
The main way to solve some of this is for Specialty Clubs to start offering
more shows in one
weekend. Two Specialties on one day......maybe a Regional Show......or a
Futurity or another
day of two Specialties the next day. That gives a lot more motivation for
people to travel for
hours.......and they can combine all expenses on the one weekend instead of 2
or 3 long trips.
That also leaves more 'free' weekends where shows are not competing with each
other somewhere.
Just my opinion.....

Really now that is a surprise I seem to remember the shows in Sacramento
last year only having a handful of dogs for a one point on each side.
What others specialties you have there that is getting such a good entry. I
think if you check results around the country Ca is no different than
other places they are not getting majors in most cases. Most of those that
are
getting majors have to build them up. People get tired of entering their
dogs to help build majors. Most clubs I think will also not charge the entry
fee for fillers so that sure does not help the club pay the bills.
I have been judging for 15 years, show chairman of specialty club for 25+
years, show chairman for AB club for 15+ years and I have never seen it this
bad. Just like I have not seen our economy this bad and I have a head full
of silver(not gray)<G> hair.

can't speak for anywhere else, but
the ABs in CA do draw majors, as do our specialties.
