[ SHOWGSD-L ] A couple of things....

I was wondering:
  1) It seems that a "reserve" anything should be awarded the win if the
original winner is disqualified for any reason. A Silver Medalist in the
Olympics receives the Gold Medal if that person is DQ'd for whatever, be it for
drugs, doping, or something else. Without those advantages/violations the
Silver Medalist may have won outright rather than through default. However, I
realize it's only the Olympics- no comparison to a dog show.
  2) With respect to "closed meetings", is there ever a time that much secrecy
is necessary- really necessary? None of the postings I've seen on The List seem
to warrant a closed session. If there no compelling reason for closed meetings,
then why not change the club rules to forbid them? DUH! Or if you prefer, we
can cotinue to flagellate ourselves and this issue until something else inane
pushes it off the ":front page".
