It's funny that FB should mention that this idea has an Olympic air to it - it actually is called the Olympics, and it's a German Shepherd match put on by a couple of New England specialty clubs. It's been held for five years or more, and is very successful. However, it is not an AKC approved event because with three judges AKC would not approve it. The match has been written up for at least a couple of years in the Review too. Each year the clubs get three judges and they score each dog in the ring independently. The dogs all get an exam by the judges, so it's great for puppies. The scores are added up and the top score gets first, the second top score gets second, and on down the line. It actually works out great, and almost each year the best and best opposite go on to finish their championships. It's a great time up here in the cold and rainy Northeast.
