I remember a national in Arizona a few years ago, I think it was 1983. Fran
Ford picked out his Selects, and then he had a large dump group off to the
side. I think there were over 50 bitches under the big tent. Then he took them
in groups of eight and looked them all over, and only kept one from the dump
group, me.
Then he took his keepers around in groups again, and excused me again, this
time for good. No one complained, and so we saw that system. His choice at
first was what he went with in the end.
Every year after the national we complain for four or five days, then we
rave about it for two weeks, and then begin the regular schedule of the List.
It
is the national way of things.
