Just a word of warning for any with a compromised immune system as I have. I went to the doctor yesterday and they did a sputum test......the doctor was amazed, it was filled with dirt. He explained that anytime you put foreign bodies (dust/dirt) into your lungs at that amount, you open yourself up for bacterial infection, which I have. If you can take antibiotics, take them. If not which is my problem, take mega doses of Vitamin C, echinacea (up to 6 caps daily) eat a pile of fruit or try Juice Plus (great stuff, double the dose) and take grapeseed. It boosts the immune system. Plenty of fluids etc etc. Can't advise bed rest, us dog people have to keep going. Also, my male started coughing yesterday. Think he may have the same issue - sounds very upper respiratory, so be on the lookout on your dogs. This is not a dry cough, very wet sounding. His temp was 103.8 and he lost appetite. Chloramphenicol to the rescue for him. So keep a little extra eye on 2 and 4 footers alike.
