We watched 3 Juniors this past weekend at the San Bernardino/Riverside
Specialty shows. The youngest young man was real disappointed in how the =
dog
he took into the ring performed. His Mother, Cindy Tellefsen and a few
others went over to him as he left the ring and gave him well deserved
congratulations when he left the ring. The explanations given to him
concerning his performance is that the Judge is not looking at the dog
necessarily, but how well he handles any problems he has while in the =
ring
as a Junior.
I think that is one point that all beginning Juniors need to realize.=20

Well my daughter turned 8 yesterday and all she has ever taked about was
showing dogs since she learned to speak............
She is at that age when she can show in juniors at matches now.
Any wisdom you parents can pass off and tips would be helpful on how to
groom a good little junior handler for the ring poised with good manners =

a knack for walking out like a little lady win, lose or draw.....=20
How do you teach a child good sportsmanship and to lose
gracefully.................my biggest fear is watching her come out of =
the
ring crying like i have seen so many other children do........or worse =
yet
be rude.=20
She is a strong minded child.........not at all passive in any way.
I just want it to be fun for her,,,,,,,but knowing the already =
competitive
nature of this little girl who has grown up wanting our dogs to win (she =
was
there with me in utero while we had the 97 GVX hahahaha and that started =

How do you make it JUST fun.......with no pressures ?
