Is that not a possibility to happen at ANY shows.....whether you make it in one trip or go to the same area a month later for two more shows?? NO ONE can predict the competition ....or what Judges will put up.......we can only hope the most deserving dogs win. On the one had........four similar judges may go for the same dog at all four shows and four Judges that are not 'compatible' may open up the chances for a variety of dogs to go up. Which is best? I don't know......? The four show weekends or two shows in one day are set up for making it more economical for exhibitors and successful for Clubs.........not who wins. As exhibitors it is our responsibility to bring a good dog to the right judges....but with four shows......at least you have four choices of judges in ONE trip.........<G> Judges obviously play a huge part in the decision and with one cluster you have four choices. Given a choice of four shows in two days on ONE trip......and two shows in two days for ONE trip I'm pretty sure which one we would chose to go to. Also......in Clubs the judging slate might start out great with the exact philosphy for compatibility that you stated Jim......but I have seen over the years that you NEVER know who the membership will vote for......or why.......<G> .......but I always hope they vote with a successful show weekend for the Club in mind and not personal agendas. Consider a scenario and I have seen it happen that superstars come in and one dog, one bitch and one special could take it all leaving a lot of animals unfinished and a lot of unhappy competitors. Clubs might want to coordinate the judge selection process so is it is more likely produce multiple winners and more folks go home happy and your entry is even bigger next year.
