[ SHOWGSD-L ] 2013 Conformation Judges Motion

To Molly and those who inquired regarding the seven judge proposal for the
2013 Centennial show;
Following is the motion as voted on my the GSDCA Board of Directors
* 2013 JUDGES OF CONFORMATON
The centennial is a show that only comes once in a life time. Other
organizations change the way they host these special events by expanding the
number of judges thus allowing more judges to participate and honor their
breed. This is a proposal to use seven judges for the 2013 national.
Selection of judges: Members would continue to vote for judges. The
assignments awarded these judges would be based on the highest vote getters.
Using descending order of votes, the judge with the most votes would judge
BOB,
BOW, and BOS. The judge with the second highest total would judge Class
Dogs, WD, RWD, the third place judge would judge Class bitches, WB, RWB ,
fourth would judge the maturity , fifth the futurity, sixth would judge best
puppy and seventh the juniors. .
Costs: At all major shows like the Westminster and AKC/Eukanuba invite
their judges with the understanding that it is an honor to be selected for
these assignments. The seven judge panel being proposed would be offered their
assignment with a contract that reimburses them for two nights lodging and
meals plus two victory dinner tickets but not transportation. The cost for
seven judgesâ?? meals and lodging is equivalent to three judges whose
expenses include their transportation.
