I sent out some options for a CA National that would save money.
There are 2 very nice locations in SoCal that could accomodate what we need in
space, including C-course herding. However, conformation would be outdoors.
Both locations offer large grassy areas so no sod would be required. Both are
currently hosting othe breed Nationals or major AB shows. If we want to save
money, stop looking at fancy locations. This is CA. How uncomfortable does it
get in Oct/Nov? Those are the best months of the year for dog shows. Good
grief!!!!!
Do conformation dogs really need to have an indoor facility? These are working
dogs, for Pete's sake.
I think people need to step back and look at what is important. Do you want a
climate controlled place to show your dogs? Ok, then donate you riches to that
end to make it convenient for you. If you just want a GREAT National, then
suck it up and have a GREAT National show. Put up or shut up! The dogs don't
care.
Ok, that sounded mean. I understand a covered venue in certain climates but
the compromise doesn't seem to be happening.
ARRGGHHH!
