I agree -- why are there always people who want to destroy everything -- there
is no perfect site, but at least this is an attempt to make it easier for Texas
folks to reach while not being farther into the heart of Texas making it more
difficult for others to reach. The people working on this have been working
above and beyond the call of duty to make it happen. Let's be thankful and
supportive instead of destructive. And let's stand up and be counted - do not
allow all the negativity. It is our club, our national and we need to stand up
for ourselves.
I am sure there will be people complaining about Ohio next year - heaven knows
what will happen there between now and then - but let's make it clear now that
we will not just sit quietly by while people try to destroy all that is good
about this club and event.

I agree that although Beaumont would not have been my site of choice, that
is what was decided and so be it. I am not certain what drives all this
angst at national time. I always have to wonder if folks who always seem to
have their "panties in a wad" about something, live in this type of
turmoil
daily..if so..I feel sorry for their dogs!!! Our approach to the National
is sort of looking at it as a"family" reunion. We get to see folks
who are
close friends, but distance keeps of from getting together and having fun
but once a year. Also it is a great place to see what other breeders are
doing. The folks in Texas have had a rough time of it. I wish some wouldn't
add to their grief. On some other list there has been talk about potential
mold..whatever. ANY facility or any hotel could potentially have mold.Yet
no one has acted like this was an issue in the past. When you truck in sod
and water it, it could develop mold since there is nowhere for the water to
evaporate and it can't be absorbed as well into the ground and no sunlight,
this is anywhere..not just Beaumont However NEVER has this been an issue
until now with this particular National. I think there was a post regarding
people who constantly disrupt this club and its ability to conduct club
business.Let me stress, anytime a conflict can be settled without
litigation, or charges being filed in or out of the PC, that is the best
option. I strongly believe that using the PC and filing charges against
anyone should be a last resort. HOWEVER, if some continue to disrupt this
club, and are attempting to keep the PC in a constant state of turmoil to
the point where it cannot conduct business,and are a source of
discouragement to participate in our national in an attempt to make it a
failure, then this needs to be addressed in a fashion that makes these few
understand the seriousness of what they are doing and that they need to
stop with their antics.If a few want to protest the National for their own
reasons, fine, but don't try to shore up others to join yo
ur cause by using
a public forum such as this and other Lists to fan the flames of
unsupported rumors. At the end of the day, it is just plain childish, so
take your toys and go play in your own sandbox and leave the rest of us who
want to go play nicely with others alone! Christine
