Not So Alone by Nathan Farris and Daniel Manson Nate stood before the mirror. The outfit exactly what he had in mind. And he was forced to start searching for clothing more suitable to Kitson's suggestion. Taking off the long grey coat, Nate slipped into the dark blue, and the jacket had offset his outfit even more as he tried to smooth the fabric over with his hands- thinking some way it would blend in. Something was missing, and he couldn't tell what. Maybe he needed to change the dark navy shirt he had on. Maybe that was the entire problem. He also considered changing the pants, but black worked for everything. Taking the shirt off, and then the dark blue jacket, he went for a white long sleeve and slipped back to the jacket. It sill some how didn't fit. Not with him, and his patience was already exhausted. Nate sighed, feeling a tad hopeless for all this. "You were fine if you left the navy shirt on, and replicated a long black jacket," Dan said as he studied Nate at the doorway. Nate looked over, a little surprised. He didn't say anything, but then nodded as he once again took the shirt off and went back to the navy colored shirt. "Borrow this belt," Dan said as he took a belt from the drawers and handed it to Nate. He shrugged and looked at his partner directly, "it'll just look better." And it did match, the buckle being a little squarer and didn't flare out like the last one as much. The belt itself blended nicely with the pants. Helping Nate with the new black jacet, Dan smoothed it out at Nate's shoulders as both of them looked into the mirror. The ensemble was complete. Evertything went, down to the shoes. But the silence was becoming unbearable and Nate felt increasingly comfortable as Dan matched his stare, but it was a lot more peaceful, calm, and hopeful that Nate would say something. Anything. It felt like hours as they stared at each other through the mirror. A sudden feeling of apprehension drowned Nate's thoughts and he turned his head away from the mirror and said softly, "I'm sorry. For everything." Dan, still capable or encircling Nate with his arms, reached out and tilted his partner's head back up and turn him around. "Makes for both of us don't you think?" He adjusted Nate's collar. "I haven't said two words to you pass our jobs. Look, I just... I just realise how lost I am," Nate admitted finally. "And I miss us." A smile crept up from the corners of Dan's lips, "yeah, I know. You're not as tough as you make it out to be." Instinctively smoothing Nate's shoulders again, "but you know now isn't the time to start thinking like this. We've got Sianar to bring back. But when you get back, we'll work this out." Dan nodded as he finished tugging at Nate's jacket a little more. "Okay," Nate said simply. Backing himself a few feet from Nate, Dan looked at him from head to toe, "you look good. Wish I was going with." "Then you'll just look better than me. Or Ambika," Nate smiled, knowing at least Dan would look better than him. He closed the short space between them with a light laugh and gave Nate a kiss. Short, sweet, and simple. Dan opened his eyes and looked at Nate, whose eyes opened moments later. "I'll walk with you," by way of offer and matter of fact. Nate nodded and Dan pulled him by the hand as both headed for the transporter room. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
