Stephen Curtis (TPWD) and I plan on setting up a Gulf eel symposium. We should
have that under control if someone wants to put on a workshop. The symposium
is a little work, to gather and organize, but I assume a workshop will be a
little more involved. I'm curious to see if anyone has any ideas.

Subject: [sdafs_wwsc] SDAFS meeting
All,
Looking for ideas. I was hoping to schedule a workshop in Galveston as a way to
provide training and raise a few dollars for our committee. The speaker I had
hoped to host the training will not be able to due to other obligations. I'm
looking for volunteers and or ideas. If you would be willing to host training
on a particular topic or know someone that would, I would greatly appreciate it.
Robby Maxwell is trying to put together an eel symposium for SDAFS. Maybe a
workshop along with a symposium is too ambitious. Thoughts?
Secondly, I've been trying to come up with other ideas as a way the committee
could be more relevant to fisheries science. Again, looking for ideas but I
have been toying with the idea of a position statement or perhaps a letter
addressed to EPA promoting water quantity for inclusion into water quality
standards or something similar. Thoughts or suggestions? Would anyone be
interested in either drafting or help drafting something along these lines or
another topic all together.
I greatly appreciate all your help.
