Thiruvananthapuram , May 31

STATE Bank of India, Kerala Circle, plans to launch
`SBI Talents Bonanza' in over 200 schools in the State
as part of its `Community Services Banking
Initiative'.

Announcing this, Mr C. Narasimhan, Chief General
Manager, said the bank proposed to felicitate students
who had completed their final phase of schooling and
had emerged toppers in their schools through the
bonanza package. Students will be provided a savings
bank account with a prepaid balance of Rs 501, an ATM
card and a certificate of commendation from the bank.

The bonanza scheme, possibly the first of its kind in
India, aims to encourage deserving students and bring
on record the bank's recognition of their performance.
The top five students of each school will be honoured
by the bank.

Mr Narasimhan said he was confident that recognition
of merit among the young and talented achievers would
encourage them to aim for higher laurels in college
and motivate other students.

The bonanza package will be unveiled across various
schools in the State during the first half of June.
The scheme is expected to generate goodwill for the
bank among the academic fraternity and enable it to
build bridges with future leaders.

Community Services Banking represented the bank's
commitment, as a corporate citizen, to the society at
large, Mr Narasimhan said.
