Hey everyone,
Last night was a wonderful viewing opportunity for Orion and M42. My
daughter and I observed M42 thru her 6" reflector - from my light-polluted
driveway on the south hill we easily resolved the "wings" and the Trapezium
(quadruple star in the middle) at about 60x.
Tonight should be another good opportunity. There's a finder chart on the
last page of this month's Asterisk.

Remember the Official SAS Observing Checklist(tm)
1. M42 (binoculars or telescope)
2. First quarter moon (Naked eye, binoculars, or scope, hopefully at
Franklin Park!)
3. Early morning planets - Mars, Saturn, Jupiter (Naked eye,
binoculars, or telescope)
Any one get any of these yet?
Clear skies,
Nick
