Hello all!
The YAA is finally beginning the construction of the Radio Telescope! There
are a few tools and materials they need that are not included in the NASA
provided kit. Before using YAA funds to procure these items, the youth
thought they would turn to their fellow club members to see if anyone has
any of the following lying around:
Radio Jove Materials:
* A computer with the following specifications:
Windows NT/2000/Xp/Vista/Win7/Win8,16 bit Sound card and/or an Analog to
Digital Converter for Stand Alone or Server operation.**, 512 MB of RAM
recommended. (More info here. We will be running the pro version:

* 40 watt + soldering iron
* Rosin core solder, 60/40
* Wire cutters/strippers
* Diagonal cutters
* long nose pliers
* Phillips screwdriver with small tip
* Small crescent screwdriver
We also need the following for the antenna mast assembly:
* 3/16" nylon rope (300 ft)
*1" PVC pipe (4-10 foot)
* 1 1/4" non metallic conduit pipe (4-10 ft)
* 1 1/4" nonmetallic conduit end caps (4)
* 4x1/4" eye bolts (12)
* 4x1/4" stop bolts (4)
* 1/4 nuts/lock washers (16)
* 4x3/8" bolts (4)
* 3/8 nuts, flat washers, & lock washers (4)
* Ground spikes or tent stakes (10)
If you would like to donate any of these items to the YAA, you can bring it
to the general meeting or contact me to arrange pickup.
