Subject: [SAS] Supernova 2016coj
Hi,
FYI there is a bright (mag ~ 13.0) type 1a supernova in NGC 4125 which is above
the top of the center bowl of the big dipper about 6° or so in Draco. It's
readily visible in a med sized scope and attached is a picture I took this
morning ~2:30 am by fishtrap. (W/ a 10" scope)
Apparently we're looking at something that happened about 75 million years ago
when dinosaurs were still roaming about. Skyandtelescope.com also has some
information about it too.
Clear skies,
Mike
