Fun event! Paul Y and Alan S joined me at Longfellow and we had a great
time. The club's split-open reflector was a hit as always, as was Paul's
solar system model. At about 6:30 we took the scopes outside and had good
views of Orion and Venus. M42 was pretty washed out but you could make out
a little nebulosity. Venus was a big hit - a nice thin fingernail crescent
and very bright. Kids thought they were looking at the moon :)
