I have seen a lot about this object and began hearing the alien twist a
couple days ago. I haven't done any homework either.

First object of apparent interstellar origin passing through our solar
system. It is believed this object comes from beyond our solar system
because it possesses solar escape velocity, meaning it is moving fast

"interstellar" object, a new astronomical class created just for this. I
should search links for better sources, but a quick perusal of the Yahoo
article reveals no terribly glaring flaws common with popular press science
stories, which I find encouraging. The image is an "artist's conception,"
not an actual image. "ESO" stands for "European Southern Observatory."
