Yeah! I think that was the best turnout I've seen in the 2+ years I've been
going to Fishtrap. Didn't get a count, but I'd have to say at least 10?

I took the club's 12" Cave reflector (aka Blue Elsom). It worked well and
provided excellent views. Setup time (including collimation) was only about
15 minutes. Skies were clear of clouds but things got a bit murky to the
south and east (smoke perhaps?)

Some quick highlights:

- Showing Saturn to a 7-year-old girl and her grandmother
- Ticking off 10 more Messiers with Mike R, mostly globulars in
Sagittarius.
- Seeing dark lanes in the Trifid, M20
- Lots of outreach. We had at least 10 different people looking thru the
big scope
- Putting heads to together w/ Mike and Debbie to find Neptune. Very
challenging to track at 360x. Might have caught a glimpse of Triton.
- 3 of the outer planets in one evening!
- M13 in a big scope, always a treat.
- Meeting new members and seeing some familiar faces.

I didn't get many pictures this time...if anyone has some photos to share,
please send to this list or email me directly and I can put them on the
website.

Nick

What a great turnout and the viewing conditions were nice too. Did anyone
count how many telescopes we had out there? let's hope we get a few more
nights like last night before winter gets here.

Thanks to everyone that came out Saturday night. It was a nice night and
was good to put some faces to some names.
