I won't add any more except I used clear Krylon (cheapest stuff there is, from Walmart) for a couple of heavy coats on my beam, and when they wind blew it down last year, after 14 years aloft, I could just pull the elements apart. NO corrossion wherever I put it, just discoloration and crud collected from our cleaan air!

GM all. Looks like the antenna issue is closing successfully, nice work all.
A note on the corrosion problem: In Torrance, we had the same problem, even when several miles inland. Plain old water based house paint, usually used white to avoid added pigments, works well. I was able to test it for losses, and once dried, were negligible up to 2.5 GHz or higher. One successful antenna set survived over 10 years this way. We used brushes, spray, or mittens to apply the paint, as befit the need. A bit messy, but it did the job. Also, a can of spray Rustoleum came in handy for touch ups and small areas. And don't forget the usual anticorrosion cream when first assembled, to prevent galling.
