Note to all members: A new padlock with the new combination was installed on the gate on Friday, May 14th. The new combination is shown on the back of your SARC membership card, which is purple in color. If you have paid your dues for 2010 and do not have a purple membership card, please contact Bob Harrison, W6RFH. It appears that the old lock was malfunctioning because it had been contaminated with WD-40 or some such lubricant. I have some "lock fluid" that is the proper stuff for lubricating locks. Please do not take it upon yourself to perform any lubrication or maintenance of locks at a SARC facility. Let me know about it and I or the Base Locksmith will take care of it. Thanks! 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY Facility Manager -----Original Message----- From: sarcmembers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:sarcmembers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of george bernard Sent: Sunday, May 16, 2010 6:34 AM To: sarcmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [sarcmembers] Re: Did the SARC gate pad lock combination change? john, at the last club meeting i was in the same position as you, so i asked for the new combo. then i walked out to try it and found both old and new combos worked. so i removed the lock and gave it to Lemon who usually knows whats going on with the facility. i presume that he tested it. it is a 1.5 hours round trip from buellton to the club house. btw - how is the te-400 doing, have you had time to finish the repair? any way that i can help? regards, george bernard, w6nre PS: since a member blew the te-400 probably by putting too much juice into it from the 736 - i dont come up to the club house on wednesdays/sundays any more. 100 watts wont do the job on 2 meters. ________________________________ From: John Maetta Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2010 2:57 PM To: sarcmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [sarcmembers] Re: Did the SARC gate pad lock combination change? Thanks Harold, I will make another attempt after work this week. An email to the from a board member would have been another appropriate step after the combination changes. After all we are amateur radio operators and are supposed to be communicators. I made a trip to the club house this afternoon to access the equipiment requirement for this Junes's VHF contest. My truck was loaded with heavy radio equipment and large antennas. Unfortunately, I was unable to gain access to the clubhouse and had to drive back home and unload everything. If I had know of the changes, I could have contacted a board memeber for the correct combinations before I set out for the club. 73 John N6VMO ----- Original Message ----- From: Harold Scott <mailto:hscott@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: sarcmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2010 14:30 PM Subject: [sarcmembers] Re: Did the SARC gate pad lock combination change? yes call me 805 343 6864 ________________________________ From: sarcmembers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:sarcmembers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Maetta Sent: Saturday, May 15, 2010 2:30 PM To: sarcmembers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [sarcmembers] Did the SARC gate pad lock combination change?
