Hm... this sounds *crazy* to me; heck, the pool should have some kind
of mechanism to allow reallocating it in case the size won't suffice

it doesn't sound like it's working this way :(

The ClamAV list would be a better place to post this, as no one on this
list has the ability to effect any changes to the ClamAV code.  Even
better might be to open a ClamAV bug report.


The bug has already been filed and fixed:

0.95.3, with this fix integrated, is supposed to be released on
Wednesday.

Seems the issue the OP reported above has nothing to do with the bug you reference. His complaint surrounds an apparent issue where ClamD is not available to scan files when the databases are being reloaded. I have not experienced this myself. But regardless, if he can show this to be the case, then the ClamAV dev team should be made aware of the issue.
