Dear all
I hope you are all well.
Thank you to all who have helped with two recent collections. The Wilton
Garden centre collection raised £224.49. Last Friday’s collection at Salisbury
railway station bagged £263.80. Both had a £20 note in them as well as tenners
and fivers! Some very generous people out there. I think these types of
locations would always raise more than Matalan as that is a low cost/budget
outlet and rather isolated on its own so doesn’t pick up passing pedestrians.
For info, we have raised just over £5k so far this year, £2.5k of that was a
donation from Paul Emerson’s Lodge.
The Community Champion at Tesco has confirmed that we are booked in for a
collection at their Southampton Road store on Saturday 14 December. He advises
further that charity collections booked locally are subject to change by head
office however but if that happens he will let us know and also rebook us.
Katie has mentioned that she needs an early slot that day, so will be first on
scene with the buckets etc.
Please let us know if you are able to help at Tesco on the 14th December.
Katie is also thinking of holding another collection at Wilton garden centre on
either 21 or 22 December, as people will be buying their Christmas trees and
hopefully feeling extra generous. This is the last weekend before Christmas so
I imagine many of you will have commitments but if you can spare an hour on
either of those days please let us know - I think we would go for whoever day
the majority can give some time on.
Helen has created a WhatsApp group. If you wish to be added feel free to send
her your number but we will continue to mainly use email as this is the most
inclusive, most accessible medium and works well. Happy for you to confirm
availability/attendance In a quick WhatsApp message. Many of us read emails on
our phones though and can just as easily fire off a quick email.
That’s it for now, thanks again for all your help.
Best wishes
