I have renewed our web hosting with GoDaddy for another two years - we are paid 
through 1/9/2014. Our domain name (saguaroastro.org) is registered through May 
2014.

I must tell the board that if it was my decision I would be looking for a new 
host.

Here is what transpired:

I received an email from GoDaddy that informed me if I renewed the hosting plan 
prior to January 9 that they would grant a 25% discount. The email included a 
promotional code for me to enter to receive the reduction.
I followed the link to the renewal page as instructed. The email explained that 
the discount would be applied after the order was submitted.
The 2-year renewal rate indicated was $167.76 - same level of service, just 
extended 24 months.
I entered the promo code, made payment and clicked to submit the order.
Much to my surprise, the amount charged to my card was $167.76… which doesn't 
seem like any discount to me.

I emailed their support department and was told that I must not have entered 
the code. But I did. Subsequent emails provided the explanation that the order 
was non-refundable, whatever that meant.

Let's just say I'm no fan of GoDaddy at the moment. 

I just thought the board should be aware of this unscrupulous business 
transaction.

I'll submit my receipt to the treasurer for reimbursement.
