Something may be up with email. I didn't see the emails quoted below until
just now. I have some junk I could donate, but it is, actually, "junk". Even
if someone came up to choose their prize, I'd still have to take it home with
me. (They'd most likely rather pass on an old ST232 CCD and a Win 95 PC to run
it. Or a "deluxe" flip mirror for an SCT. Who hand guides anymore?)
I'd vote against purchasing items from the treasury because it may set the same
precedent as you foresee for "the big companies". Pretty soon, everyone
expects a huge prize and we deplete our account.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Subject: [sac-board] Re: Raffle ideas
Hi, Folks.
I asked the Board if they would be willing to buy some items for X amount of
money and got no reply from anyone at all. I have struck out with all my
emails and phone calls but one, Starizona, and they have not sent me anything
yet, but asked me for my nailing address to send something.
This search is not going well for me at all. I'm happy that Michael has a
few things so we haven't struck out completely. The big companies don't
donate, because they would have to for everyone, and the little guys
generally can't donate.
So, maybe we have to buy some stuff if the board approves? How about it. SAC
Board?
