Board,

FYI
file this for future reference:

Marge Willliams has been talking to Christine Shupla who wants to offer us a
meeting place at the ASC Planetarium in exchange for some ushering work. She
is inquiring with both EVAC and SAC. So it is something to put under
consideration for the future and followed up on at a later date.

Subject: Help requested from the Planetarium Director at the Science Center

Jack,

 From EVAC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Phoenix Science Center has offered the use of the Planetarium for our
General Assembly monthly meetings, with the stipulation that EVAC provide
ushers for their programs. While it would be very nice to use such an
auditorium, we can not expect that only the Officers and Board members, or
even a different select few, will be left to usher ensuring a meeting place
for the entire club.

The particulars, as described to me, are as follows:

We would have to provide an usher for Sat. and Sun. Hours would generally be
from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a 2 hour break between 11:30 and 1:30. Four
shows each day, lasting about 40 minutes. Duties include taking tickets at the
door, assisting show presenter before show starts and keeping an eye on the
audience during the shows. Assisting folks who might want to leave during the
show,
etc.

Right now, I am thinking of a number... of people that makes this possible.

If you think you could commit to one weekend a year, I'd like to hear from
you!

Christine Shupla

End EVAC<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Jack,

Christine Shupla (spelling?) has four shows a day for 364 days a year at the
planetarium and no funding for anyone to do the duties above. She dislikes
leaving the audience completely alone especially when someone may need help
and or guidance. The speaker may also need slight assistance from time to
time.

I promised I would take her needs to SAC; would you present it?

I don't believe EVAC will take her up on a meeting place but we might in the
future if anything happens to the Grand Canyon arrangement.

That aside, the question is: are there SAC members who might donate a day or
more?

Margie
