Dear all,

Most of you will be aware that our volunteers were among 18 groups nominated
within Surrey for possible receipt of the Queen's Award this year. The award
is the equivalent of the MBE for volunteer groups.

I am very pleased to be able to report that this morning I received an email
telling us that we have won the award! While there seems to be no embargo on
spreading this good news, the official announcement in the London Gazette
will not be made until June 2nd.

Congratulations to you all for winning such a prestigious award and very
many thanks for all the help you provide without which the museum could not
survive.
