Subject: [rurallife] Update on trees

A large team of woodyard volunteers turned up this morning and set to work.

Within minutes the threat to the caravan was removed, Tweedsmuir was reopened
and the railway line cleared.

However on closer inspection of the area behind the woodyard a large number of
unsafe trees were discovered including one threatening to fall through the
centre of the living van.

As a result the woodland walk will remain closed until a climber can deal with
these hung up trees.

One piece of good news is that it looks likely that we will be able to save the
Wellingtonia subject to a closer inspection by the climber.

A big thank you to all those that turned up this morning to start clearing the
devastation, you have saved us a lot of money though raising more funds to
continue caring for the arboretum must now be a priority.

Chris
