Hi Chris

I have some mobile phone photos of the clearance work we did today.

The Woodies were busy today. The back drive is now clear of all large timber other than the stumps, with just the considerable quantity of brash for burning remaining. Access to the Polish building and the new station is also restored. We still need to sort out two hanging trees and clear the woodland walk behind the woodyard and opposite the cottages, which hopefully will be done next weekend. I would suggest till then the woodland walk is closed off for safety reasons.

Let me know if you want the pics

cheers

Pete (Andrews)

Here comes the message that you've all been waiting for! Yes, I'm
afraid the deadline for the next issue of Rustic looms - it's actually
tomorrow but there may be a few days grace.

While we will obviously be featuring the damage to the museum's trees
(did anyone actually take any photographs of the clearance
operation?), there will be plenty of room for other items too.

I have have a few submissions already and thank you to those who sent
them in. However I still need more to make the newsletter of interest
to a wide variety of readers.

I am sure there are lots of subjects that would make for an
interesting item. My favourite artefact is always very popular but
once again I seem to have a shortage of them.

Perhaps one of you would like to write about the museum's new website?
Another entry to being a Family Friendly Museum and Activity Thursdays
from a helper's point-of-view? Building the new waggon shed? Or even
sweeping up leaves (yes, I've got some photographs to illustrate that
last subject)?

I look forward to being deluged with contributions, either on paper or
electronically to rural.life@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx please.

Happy new year to you all and let's hope that many new visitors
discover us in 2014.

Chris
