I appreciate Lisa's call list that you sent on Monday. We need to pressure
senators to pass a funding bill and end the shutdown. But yesterday, for their
first bill in 2019, Republican senators voted for a package of measures,none of
which addressed funding the government, but instead promoted Rubio's anti-BDS
measure. (Not only does this not fund the government, it restricts First
Amendment freedoms and is unconstitutional.) Most Senate Democrats vowed to
block any legislation that doesn't fund the government until the shutdown is
ended, and they voted against Senate Bill1. So it didn't pass. Yay! But four
Democrats voted with Republicans yesterday, in opposition to the rest of the
Dems. They are: Kyrsten Sinema, AZ - 202-224-4521(her first vote as a
senator) Bob Menendez, NJ - 202-224-4744 (NJ is a blue state) Joe Manchin, WV
- 202-224-3954 Doug Jones, AL - 202-224-4124 So, in addition to the
senators on Lisa's list, I called each of these four Democratic senators and
told them I expect them to vote with the Democrats to blockall bills that do
not address funding and re-opening the government, until the shutdown has
ended. You might want to forward this email on to the rest of the RTT folks who
