From our friend Michelle at Tom Udall's office.
================================================
On behalf of U.S. Senator Tom Udall, you’re invited to attend a discussion on
the For The People Act, the senator’s sweeping package of pro-democracy and
anti-corruption reforms to help fix our broken politics, restore the promise of
American democracy, and make government work for the people. This landmark
bill—which includes measures Sen. Udall has championed for years in the
Senate—is the companion legislation to H.R. 1 in the House of Representatives,
which passed by a vote of 234-193, and is co-sponsored by the entire Senate
Democratic caucus.
“American democracy has reached a crisis point. Too many Americans have every
reason to believe that their government no longer answers to them – and most
people are either losing faith in the system or have already lost it
completely. Voting rights are under assault and special interest money drowns
out the vocies of regular people. Enough is enough. I invite you to join me and
community advocates and leaders for a conversation about how we unrig the
system and take back our democracy.” – U.S. Senator Tom Udall
